Apartments are located on the border of Supertarska Draga and Lopar. Kozica beach can be found near by. Zlatini Zalaz Apartments provides the most beautiful view of sunset and Tunera bay.
Rab is one of the most beautiful islands in the Adriatic Sea. In addition to the historical town of Rab, the following are also integral parts: Barbat, Banjol, Palit, Kampor, Mundanije, Supetarska Draga and Lopar.
In the northeast, the Lopar Peninsula comprises a significant part of the island, bordered by Lopar Bay on one side, and Crnika Bay on the other. The entire peninsula is extraordinarily rugged, with famous beaches, including one of the most popular beaches of the Adriatic, the sandy beach of Rajska (Rajska Beach).
Rab is an ancient town on a narrow peninsula, whose characteristic outline consists of city walls and four towers, depicting Rab as a boat with four poles. When walking down the streets, you cannot miss the Romanesque cathedrals, monasteries, magnificent palaces and churches. Banova Vila beach and Komrčar forest park is found in the town, which is the pride of Rab and considered one of the most beautiful parks on the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea. The park runs a network of footpaths.
Banjol is a beautiful part of the island of Rab, with three renowned pebble sandy beaches, called Padova. The seaside promenade connects Banjol to the center of Rab.
Barbat offers several small beaches. Barbuda’s most popular beach is Pudarica, a pebble beach with many kinds of rocks, surrounded by low vegetation and bushes. During the summer night hours it attracts young people to the very popular Santos nightclub.
In the lower part of Supetarska Draga you will find two small sandy beaches where you can relax far from the town bustle. If you are searching for a sea adventure, the sandy beach called Gonar offers water ski and boat rentals. Across Supetarska Draga there are several small islands where you can swim from a boat. Maman is one of the most famous islands.
The most preserved fishing village on the island is hidden in the Dundo Forest Reserve – one of the few preserved original Mediterranean forests. Since 1949 the Dundo Forest has been declared a forest and botanical reservation. The Dundo Forest has trails suitable for bikers and hikers – you will not get there by car.
This trail was built on the Kalifront peninsula in 1930 by the forest engineer, Premužić. The trail is designed for hikers and cyclists, leading to the most interesting parts of the Kalifront peninsula, across Dundo Forest to the northernmost part of the island of Rab – to the area of Lopar and Fruga where unique flysch are visible. Part of Kampor is Kandarola, one of the most famous nudist beaches, called “a small Adriatic paradise” for nudists.
Only 12 kilometers from the town of Rab lies Lopar, otherwise known as Sandy Paradise, because of the numerous natural sandy beaches in Lopar (which are quite rare on the Adriatic) and many romantic, hidden bays. In the eastern part of the Lopar peninsula lies San Marino and Crnika Bay with the 1.5-km-long sandy Paradise Beach, in Croatian called Rajska plaža. Rajska plaža is unique in Croatia – the beach consists of fine sand and the sea is very shallow, far from the shore (up to 600 m).
Ciganka (Cikanka) is the most beautiful nudist beach Lopar offers. It has many interesting rock formations, as well as sandy pyramids and sandy and rocky surfaces. A 30-minute walk from Paradise Beach is the beautiful sandy beach of Sahara, also the most popular nudist beach of Lopar. Other Lopar beaches include Livačina and Kastelina.
Palit is the youngest town on the island, exceptional due to its central location. The nearby beaches of Skver and Frkanj are renowned and popular among natives and tourists.
During WWI, Russian prisoners of war were held on the island. During WWII, Germany and Italy maintained a military garrison and a prison camp on the island. The island had similar use after the war. A prison camp was set up in 1948, where in the following years, in addition to criminal offenders, the opponents of the regime, the supporters of both democratic changes and Stalinism, along with fascists and Ustashi, were imprisoned.
Kamenjak (sometimes also Straža, 588 meters above sea level) is the highest mountain on the island. At the peak you will reach the concrete road from the settlement of Mundanija. From the top you will have an unforgettable view of the entire island.
